I have been contemplating the meaning and significance of courage in my life. I have had moments in my life when I haven’t believed in myself, or I don’t even try something new or that I know would be good for me because of fear or failing or not being good enough. I have had moments of doubt, when fear creeps in, and I stop in my tracks.
When this happens I know I am not myself, I freeze and I don’t let my light shine, meaning I am not connecting with the true essence and spirit that I have always been.
In these moments, I dig deep to find the courage keep moving forward. To face my fears. To shift it. It is calling on the inner warrior within to cut through the fear and make space for your true self to step forward into the light.
“I learned that courage was not the absence of fear, but the triumph over it. The brave man is not he who does not feel afraid, but he who conquers that fear.” – Nelson Mandela
10 Ways to Activate Your Courage
Throughout this journey, it’s been helpful for me to take time journal my experiences and see how I have grown and the healing and understanding that comes with this process.
ACTION STEP: To harness the courage within, I encourage you to take some time and reflect and write down examples of courage in your life. Brainstorm personal examples of your own courage or people in your life that you feel have courage.
The following are aspects of courage to reflect on and activate within your life:
- Strength – Strength of heart is a huge part of having courage. Many times it is not easy to have courage, and to feel, know, and rely on that strength within you. Call on the warrior spirit to never give up and keep moving forward.
- Willingness to Act – Even if something feels uncomfortable, or brand new for you, courage is about the willingness to act upon. To step forward and try something new, to speak your truth, to be yourself. To explore new territory and discover more aspects of the world and yourself.
- Moving Past Fears – At times I have felt nervous, scared, or afraid to do something, but courage draws on a force within you to keep moving forward. It is faith in yourself, knowing you will be ok, and the outcome is worth the risk.
- Daring and Bold – Sometimes we need to take the leap, even if you don’t have all the answers, or know all the outcomes.
- Spirit as Foundation – We often identify with our physical bodies, and the fear of judgement in this life, but that isn’t who you truly are. You are much more than that. Connecting to who you are as an infinite spiritual being helps to put things in perspective, and makes the risks and fears of the ego more manageable to overcome. Know that you are an infinite spiritual being. Remember and connect with who you truly are, digging deep into your soul.As an infinite spiritual being, you have all of the answers within you. Meditation is a great way to connect with your spirit self, and ask questions or a to bring peace of mind and body.
- True to Self – Courage can be about living and acting each day by being true to yourself. This might mean you don’t conform to the majority, but you know who you are and stand up tall and proud. Self-expression and living your truth, your passion, and purpose.
- Face the Unknowns – Courage is often needed when there is uncertainty. It might be a new situation and you don’t know what the outcome will be. This can inspire fears, and “what if’s” can spiral downhill quickly . Draw on courage, your belief in yourself, spirit as your foundation to walk forward into the unknown.
- Faith – When there are unknowns or something new that is sparking fears, lean into faith. Faith is about trusting yourself, and knowing that you are capable. Faith helps us to move forward, trusting in the process and outcome. From this faith you can develop your confidence with each step you take.
- Love of Self – Living your life with courage each day, it’s important to be kind to yourself and love yourself. There are some days when having courage will come easier than others, and that’s ok. It’s about being aware of your journey and recognizing what you might do differently next time. Recognize and continue to move forward with self-love. Be gentle with yourself.
- Reach out for Support – Sometimes courage is something that comes with time, practice, and continuing to learn and grow. During this journey, find someone you trust to ask for support and encouragement along the way.
How to live each day with Courage
- Be kind to yourself – this can be a big part of being confident and feeling more comfortable with having courage, which is being your true authentic self and remembering to love yourself on your journey to living each day with courage.
- Baby steps – remember that this can take time, and continuing to take steps forward. This can be done by making small mini goals for yourself. Giving yourself praise with each goal accomplished!
- Compassion for self – Continuing to move forward, recognizing lessons learned, a deeper understanding of self, caring for yourself.
Courage is a force, a power within. Each of us are infinite spiritual beings that have all the knowing to live each day with courage. To live life courageously is a decision one decides to make each day. You have everything within you to take steps forward and live the life you truly want. With courage, you can conquer and overcome your fears.
Tools of Empowerment that Boosted my Courage and Self-Love
My journey with the Modern Mystery School has significantly helped me move forward with greater awareness of the infinite spiritual being that I am, giving me a stronger foundation and greater confidence as I face my fears.
This started with the Life Activation session. This private healing session activates the blueprint for who you are as a spiritual being within your DNA. It “turns on” a greater awareness of who you are as spirit, a connection to self and inner knowing, and puts energies in motion for greater healing.
The next step on my journey was the Empower Thyself initiation. This initiation anchors keys within your energy and opens up channels of light, for an accelerated forward movement of coming to know yourself as an infinite spiritual being having this physical experience.
This initiation brings greater empowerment to bring the REAL YOU forward, stepping into the driver’s seat of life. To bring who you truly are, your essence as spirit, as the captain of your ship, not the negative ego that can run you in circles with fear and anxiety.
The Modern Mystery School brings ancient lineage tools and teachings focused on empowering each of us to embody more of who we are as spirit, and live a life from this foundation. Find a certified Guide near you to assist you in building a plan of action for greater healing and empowerment.
